Hey everybody! It’s Feral Fire release day! Our 6th full length is now available in stores. You can get it at pretty much any online retail outlet including Amazon and iTunes. What are you waitin’ on? Go get it!
After 14 months and various ‘chinese democracy’ jokes, The Better Angels Of Our Nature is now available for purchase as a 180 gram limited edition vinyl LP. There are only 500 of these hand numbered records so jump right on it and experience the lovely hand screened insert with lyric page. You can buy it now through our good friends at Last Chance Music.
Ok, first thing’s first. Our new record, Feral Fire, will be released on February 2nd. We are all very excited to say the least.
Joey is so excited, he has decided to give you his new solo record as a free download!
It’s called The All-Night Bedroom Revival. I know Joey spent a lot of time on it and he did everything himself. I listened to it while I was on the road this past month and I can tell you that it’s gripping and dense and is a showcase for one of my favorite songwriters ever. The record also includes the incredible song “Paper Mills” written by Kevin Kerby of Little Rock, AR. So please enjoy it thoroughly and let it tide you over until Feral Fire’s birthday on Feb 2nd.
We are looking forward to our annual Black Friday show with Lauderdale at the Old Town Tavern in Sheffield, AL. What started as a matter of convenience has turned into a full-blown tradition. Come on out and see all your old friends with us.
We’re also wrapping up the details on a couple of weekends out with the fabulous Vulture Whale at the end of January. Take a look and see if we’re coming to yo-town.
Sorry we’ve been slacking with our posts. We’ve been busy getting everything ready for the release of “Feral Fire”, which is coming out at the beginning of the year. There will be many many shows to follow. In 2010 we plan on promoting the new record as much as possible. This means lots and lots of shows everywhere that will have us.
I also have a solo record that will be available for free download here on our website in a week or two. So keep checking back for it. Hope all is well. – joey
Hi there!
While the website sat broken and static, we have been furiously working to finish up our new record, Feral Fire. While we don’t have a definitive release date set, it is safe to say it will be out this Fall on Lucero’s Liberty and Lament label. The artwork is spectacular and it was done by our friend Drew Binkley.
The vinyl edition of Better Angels is experiencing its 3rd master cutting and will hopefully be the last. We want it in our hands as badly as you do, I assure you.
The new look for the website represents the latest version of the artwork for The Better Angels of Our Nature. This latest run of handmade CD’s will be avalable through this website very soon. This edition was also designed by Drew Binkley and we look forward to working with him in the new year.
We will be playing here and there through the end of the year so keep an eye out for dates that will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Thanks for checking in! Come see us!
We want to thank all our friends who donated to the Glossary transmission fund, especially the good folks from Postcard From Hell. We feel so lucky and humbled to know so many awesome, kind people…and we promise to rock as hard as we possibly can to earn it. Thanks to y’all, the Beauville is gettin’ all fixed up this week….–Kelly

I’ll be playing at Liquid Smoke in Murfreesboro on the square Friday, March 27 around 9:30. It’s free so no excuses. – joey
