Winding Down The Year!

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Just wanted to let everybody know what we got coming up for the rest of 08′. As you probably know by now, we’ve been laying low the last two months. Todd’s been out on The Revival Tour and I’ve been writing songs for the new record. I’m really excited about the way things are coming together and I can’t wait to get them recorded. The new record will be called “Feral Fire” and we hope to have it come out in the early part of the new year.

We’ve got several shows coming up including a few with long time Glossary sister bands Two Cow Garage and Centro-Matic. We’re excited as hell about those.

Other than that, we’re just putting on our winter weight in anticipation of the cold weather. Go vote!

Well, thats all I got. Stay safe and we’ll see ya down the road.   -  joey

Shake Up The Future and Rattle This Cage …

Monday, August 18th, 2008

So after 9,000 miles, 1,000 beers and 29 states we’re safe and sound and back in the Boro. The tour went as great as we expected. Our 1990 Chevy Beauville did us proud. We lost our AC for 2 weeks after our serpentine belt took out our rear AC line, but other than that she got us to every show. We got to play a lot of places we never played before, including a boat.

We couldn’t have had better hosts. Lucero took real good care of us and it was awesome to get see a band we love and admire play every night. They are some of our oldest and dearest friends and truly one of the hardest working bands in rock n’ roll.

In hindsight the things that stick out the most are: my guitar getting stolen then getting it back, Mr. Jimmy falling in love, getting to swim in the Pacific Ocean, riding on a boat around Manhattan while Lucero and Justin Townes Earle played, 2 days in Vegas, and hanging out with my best friends for 6 weeks doing what we love.

I realize more so than ever that we live in a beautiful country full of beautiful people. I hope we made some new friends. If the fates allow there will be many many more tours in our future.

Right now we’re home for awhile and I’m eagerly working on the songs that will make up our 6th full length album “Feral Fire”. It will be recorded by our friend Matt Pence from Centro-Matic in early January, and released soon after. If you caught any of the shows on this tour, you might have heard a couple of our new songs.

Well, just wanted to let y’all know what’s going on. We sure hope we get to see everyone down the road at a rock show near you. Hope all is well.    – joey
